On Friday, December 16th, 2016, from 14:00 to 18:00, a meeting of CMUP involving all four lines of research will take place in Room FC1 0.31. This will be the third of a series of meetings where representatives of different research areas within CMUP will give talks whose goal is to give an idea, to all other members of CMUP and anyone interested, of what is being done, inside CMUP, in those areas. This meeting involves all four lines of research within CMUP. One of the main objectives of these meetings is to foster new collaborations among researchers, both inside and across different areas, and, therefore, we make a special appeal to ALL members of CMUP to try to attend them. Given the nature of the meeting, we also encourage all Ph.D. and Master students to attend, as well as interested undergraduates. This meeting will consist of 7 talks, lasting 20 minutes each, followed by a period of 10 minutes for questions and answers. More details can be found in the attached PDF file. There will also be a Cookie & Coffee Break to which everyone attending the meeting is invited to. P.S.: As a publicity gimmick (and also just for sheer fun) it was decided to name each meeting using the name of some movie that is somehow (the name, not necessarily the movie) related (albeit in a very abstract way) to the subject of the meeting, or that evoke a confrontation (of ideas).
